Clean Burn Safety
All Clean Burn heating systems are listed by UL to all appropriate standards. Clean Burn systems meet or exceed EPA regulations and meet all safety and environmental requirements as an acceptable means of used-oil recycling. Clean Burn systems comply with all applicable safety standards wherever Clean Burn is sold worldwide. If you buy a Clean Burn from an authorized Clean Burn Distributor, you can be sure it meets the safety standards in your region.

Being smart with used oil also means being safe. Clean Burn recommends that anyone purchasing, installing, and/or operating a used-oil heating system review and follow the standards as established by the National Fire Protection Association. These standards include codes that have been written specifically for the safety of the used-oil industry and should be used in conjunction with the Operator's Manual supplied with your Clean Burn heating system.

NFPA Codes of particular importance to the installation and operation of used-oil heating systems include:

  • NFPA 30 Flammable and Combustible Liquids Code
  • NFPA 30A Automotive and Marine Service Station Code
  • NFPA 31 Standard for the Installation of Oil-Burning Equipment
  • NFPA 211 Chimneys, Fireplaces, Vents and Solid Fuel Burning Appliances
  • NFPA 88A Parking Structures
  • NFPA 88B Repair Garages
  • NFPA 51B Standard for Fire Prevention During Welding, Cutting, & Other Hot Work
