Cold Pressure Washers vs Hot Water Pressure Washers

Cold pressure washers are ideal for removing dirt. However, if the surface you are cleaning is mixed with oil or grease, a cold water pressure washer won’t clean as well as a hot water pressure washer.

Think of it like washing greasy dishes in the sink. No matter how much soap you use, you are only smearing the grease around in cold water. Add hot water, and it cuts through the grease and oil in no time. The same applies to cleaning with a pressure washer. If oil or grease is present in any form, you will need a hot water pressure washer. Power

Electric, Typically used indoors because there are no fumes and run quieter.
Gasoline/Diesel, Portable so they can be used in the field.

Direct Drive or Belt Driven Pump

Belt-Drive, the belt connecting the engine/motor with the high-pressure pump minimizes the wear & tear and extends the life of the pump by reducing the RPM demand.

Direct-Drive, Pump is directly coupled to the engine or motor causing the pump to spin twice as fast as the belt drive models; not recommended for unlimited usage.

For Hot Water Washers, Diesel, Electric, or Natural Gas Heated

Fuel Oil / Diesel-Heated: For use outdoors, it offers the most flexibility with portability and ready-access to fuel.
Electric-Heated: For use indoors; no fumes, but also no portability.
Natural Gas: Used mostly indoors; fumes can be vented, but no portability.

Portable or Stationary

Portable, Wheels so the pressure washer can be moved to the cleaning action.
Stationary, Fixed wash bays where portability is not needed.
